On January 19th, 2017, a group of physicians from across Tulsa met to discuss pain management rendered by primary care physicians. While chronic pain management, by default, has fallen on the shoulders of primary care physicians, few have been formally trained. With emerging guidelines for prescribing and new understanding about the significant harm pain medications can cause, educating PCPs and arming them with tools to safely provide this service is critical.
